Valentine's pick for fav movie

I wanted to post my choice for my fav movie this year for a Valentine's love of film.
First off let me give you my very short list of my top 5 in no particular order.

Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith

King Kong

Brokeback Mountain

Crash

Transamerica

With Munich, Capote and Hostel as honorable mentions

And the winner goes to..............

Brokeback Mountain who reinvented the romantic drama into a bittersweet delight of stillness and heartwrenching power.

And I just saw this movie again with my mom and she was in total agreement with me.
BTW we went to this little arthouse in Sarasota Florida that if you blinked you would miss it.
But it was such a cute and enchanting experience that I had to mention it.
The name of the place was something like Biers Circle or something like that but if you go to Sarasota go to the Downtown area off of Ringling Blvd. and look for it.
You won't be sorry.
And if you are curious as who the runner-up is it was Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith who if Brokeback doesn't fulfill it's duties then must take over.

Well thank you for visiting me on this day of love to share with me my love of film.
What was your list? Let me know.

Firewall blocks the boredom...but that's it

Something about this movie that I want to start off with... I saw it with my mom and because it wasn't Hostel I think I liked it much better then I should have.
Let me explain.
After that painful experience of seeing Hostel with my mom (go check out my review and you'll know what I'm talking about), this movie was so much more relaxing.
And because of it, I think I was willing to give it a better review then it deserved.
This movie is definitely a blockbuster night but not a terrible night just a simple sweet night.
Harrison Ford does his routine schtick where he plays the husband who needs to save his wife and now kids from the bad guys.
From start to finish this movie doesn't offer any twists or turns and just plays by the numbers.
Even the reason why the main baddie goes thru all this is the same old thing...the all-mighty dollar.
Nothing is surprising and everyone does what their suppose to do.
Now enough of the down side...here's why you should rent this puppy.
Harrison Ford doing his regular schtick is still Harrison Ford doing his regular schtick if you know what I mean.
Its just great watching him get all mad and finding a way to seek revenge.
He's just a perfect actor for that kind of thing.
Although I love him in his evil roles.
Much more haunting then the revenge thing.
Everyone else was ok and did their jobs ok especially "Chloe" from 24 who the writers needed to add a few more lines to cause seeing Mary is just plain fun.
Why hasn't anyone caught on to this and given this girl her due.
Anyway go see this movie and do just that...have a little fun.

HaVe yOu ChEcKeD tHe cHiLdReN

When A Stranger Calls is a remake of a 70's movie that scared the bejesus out of me at that time but now it just is plain stupid.
Sneak into this one cause it ain't worth the price of admission.
One example is this whole set up of the main character running track and her teacher telling her that she knows she can run better than that.
Well I guess the director totally forgot about this and it never entered into the plot after that.
The main baddie isn't even anyone that we meet.
Just some non-descript guy who rips kids apart with his bare hands.
Everything about this movie was pointless.
Just do yourself a favor and rent the original.
At least that one had a feeling of dread to it.
But maybe that was just me being a young teen.
Yeah that's got to be it.
So take a chance if you want, but don't blame me for your time lost.
And I was with 3 other people who all said the same.
This movie sucked!!!!
Simon might come after me if he reads this but hey don't look at me buddy.
You are the one who messed up.
